Zara Roodt has had an outstanding start to the year, delivering an impressive performance at the Diving New Zealand National Championships in Christchurch during the school holidays.

After months of dedicated training and preparation, Zara achieved a series of excellent results across both junior and senior competitions.

Competing in the Junior Elite A division, she won:

  • Gold in the 3 metre springboard event
  • Bronze in the 1 metre springboard event
  • Gold in the synchronised 3 metre springboard event

Zara also competed in the Open Women’s 3 metre springboard event, where she won the silver medal against some of New Zealand’s top senior divers.

These achievements have earned Zara selection to represent New Zealand at the 2026 World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships, which will be held in Rijeka, Croatia, from 21 to 28 August.

The World Junior Championships bring together some of the world’s most talented young divers, making selection an incredible achievement and an exciting opportunity to compete at the highest level.

Zara’s success reflects the countless hours she has devoted to training, along with the determination, resilience and discipline required to perform consistently at such a high level.

Everyone at Pinehurst is incredibly proud of her achievements so far, and we look forward to cheering her on as she takes to the world stage later this year.
