Year 7 student, Miranda Meng, has returned from an exciting few weeks overseas, representing New Zealand on the international stage and achieving an outstanding result at the PRM International Piano Competition in Vancouver, Canada.

She flew to the United States, where she took part in the Lancaster International Music Festival, an intensive programme that brings together talented young musicians from around the world. She then travelled to Vancouver to compete in the grand final of the PRM International Piano Competition after winning the New Zealand regional final in the junior division.

Competing against some of the world’s most talented young pianists, she was awarded the silver medal, an exceptional achievement and a testament to the countless hours of practice, perseverance and dedication she has invested in her music.

International competitions provide young musicians with opportunities to perform, learn from leading professionals and connect with other talented performers from around the world. They also require an extraordinary level of commitment, discipline and courage to perform at such a high level on the world stage.

Everyone at Pinehurst is incredibly proud of her accomplishment and the way she has represented both New Zealand and the school.
