We’re proud to congratulate Jack Ji, who has been named the 2025 College Sports Young Sportsperson of the Year (Badminton), an achievement he has now earned for the second year in a row.

Jack joined us in Year 10, and since then he has been a committed and influential member of our Premier Boys Badminton team. Over four years, he has represented Pinehurst with consistency, focus, and humility, setting a standard that extends well beyond match results.

Alongside competing at an elite level, Jack has given his time generously, coaching younger students through the Students Coaching Students programme, umpiring countless matches, and supporting his teammates whenever needed. His willingness to give back has had a big impact on the Pinehurst badminton community.

Over the past two years, Jack has won every major U19 title available, including U19 National Singles Champion, and was named MVP of the NZ Junior Badminton League in 2025. He has also represented New Zealand as part of the national badminton squads for several years, showing sustained excellence and dedication.

Winning the College Sports Young Sportsperson of the Year for Badminton for a second year shows not just his outstanding ability, but also his character, leadership, and commitment to others.

Congratulations to Jack on an exceptional achievement and a remarkable contribution to Pinehurst sport.
