We are really pleased to share some special news about Pinehurst alumna Kelly Liu (Class of 2025).
Kelly has had an exceptional university application season, receiving offers from 11 leading universities in the United States. These include Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Johns Hopkins University, Rice University and Vanderbilt University. Most recently, she has also received an offer from Stanford University, where she will study Biochemistry with a minor in Mathematics and Computer Science.
One moment that stands out came in March, when Kelly received a ‘Likely Letter’ from Columbia University. These are only sent to a very small number of applicants as an early indication of admission, recognising both achievement and potential. It was a meaningful milestone in what has been a remarkable journey.
Kelly’s success reflects years of steady commitment and hard work, along with the strong academic foundation she built during her time at Pinehurst. It’s also a reminder of what can happen when students are encouraged to aim high and back themselves.
As she prepares to begin this next chapter, Kelly hopes her experience will encourage other Pinehurst students to pursue their own goals with confidence.
