Alumni Update: Harry Bartlett

After leaving Pinehurst, Harry moved to the UK in August 2016 for the most part of 2 years. Training at one of the most prestigious dance schools, Carey Academy in Birmingham.

It has been tough going at times due to injury, living so far away from home, and funding but he is loving doing something that he is so passionate about . Harry says he is so grateful for the support Pinehurst gave him.

This year at the World Championships in April in Glasgow, Harry fulfilled his life long dream of Top 10 in the World. In front of over 21 judges, he finished an incredible 6th,  one of the highest achievements by a New Zealand male dancer at the World Championships.

His team Céilí Dancing placed second in the world, a huge result. Harry has also wanted nothing more than to perform in an international show and the very beginning of that became a reality a few weeks ago when he was flown to France to perform in his first international show with Murphy's Celtic Legacy.

Harry is now about to embark on a two week masterclass with Murphy's Celtic Legacy and if he continues to perform well he will start a 50 city tour in January 2019. He also heads to Orlando in June to compete in yet another event. Life in general and working to fund shows is a real balance but Harry continues to do what he loves and is always grateful of the support he receives, for him he is living his dream.
