Our summer and winter sports programmes are a source of school pride

With over 150 sports teams and two dedicated Sports Coordinators, our students thrive under expert coaches, supported by outstanding facilities including two gymnasiums, a full-size TigerTurf multi-sport field (FIH‑certified for hockey, tennis, and netball) and nearby venues like the Millennium Centre and Northern Arena Swimming Centre.

Athletics

At Pinehurst we run Inter house Athletics and Cross Country events at Rosedale Park and the AUT Millennium, giving students from Years 1–13 opportunities to compete each season.

Badminton

Played during both summer and winter terms, badminton is open to all ages and skill levels, offering a great way to develop agility and focus on friendly club-style match play.

Basketball

As part of the Junior Breakers (Years 1–6) and North Harbour Basketball (Years 7–13) leagues, our basketball teams train at school and compete weekly across top local venues — from YMCA Northcote to Massey Uni gyms.

Football & Futsal

With both outdoor football and fast paced futsal teams, students sharpen their technical skills and game awareness under experienced coaching, competing in local leagues and tournaments.

Our golf programme provides both intra-school competitions and inter-school days, giving students the opportunity to develop precision, patience, and strategic thinking.

Hockey

Our full-size FIH certified TigerTurf pitch has made hockey hugely popular. We field teams at all year levels, competing in the North Harbour winter league and national tournaments.

We play on our six-court turf, from social Year 1–6 teams to competitive squads in Year 7+. Our teams compete in UNISS, AIMS, North Harbour winter league, and weekly Saturday games.

Snow Sports

Snow sports at Pinehurst offer students the chance to ski or snowboard competitively or recreationally. Years 1–8 can take part in after-school ski and snowboard programmes at Snowplanet in Silverdale.
