A stage for every voice

At Pinehurst, Drama is more than performance – it’s about building confidence, communication, and creativity. From their very first lessons, students learn to use their voice and body with purpose, collaborate with others, and see the world from new perspectives through storytelling.

Drama lessons start in College, and become an exciting journey of discovery. Students experience everything from physical theatre and stage combat to scripted text and devised performances, developing the skills to hold an audience and express ideas with clarity and impact.

As students progress, they explore a wide range of genres, texts, and cultures, gaining insight into the craft of performers, directors, and theatre-makers. The Cambridge pathway allows students to specialise as either performers or designers, giving them the freedom to shape their own creative direction.

Senior Drama students extend this learning through independent research and practical projects – work that reflects their own interests and passions. Many go on to tertiary study in the Arts, but the skills gained are universal: leadership, communication, teamwork, creativity, and the confidence to stand tall in any arena.

Where Every Student Has A Role To Play

Productions at Pinehurst are about more than taking centre stage, they’re about collaboration, creativity and finding confidence in every role. From acting and chorus work to set design, lighting, and backstage crew, students discover that theatre relies on many voices working together. Our productions celebrate this teamwork, creating experiences that build skills, friendships and memories that last well beyond the final curtain.

Primary Production

Our Primary Production gives our younger students their own moment in the spotlight. Each year, our Primary School brings a musical production to life in our purpose-built theatre. Whether the spotlight is on Year 3 & 4 or Year 5 & 6, every child takes to the stage as part of the cast or chorus.

Auditions are held for main roles, but every class gets involved, making it a true whole-school celebration. For many students, it’s their first taste of performing under the lights, with families and teachers cheering them on—a shared experience that builds confidence, friendships, and community.

This year’s show is Aladdin — full of energy, laughter and magic. It’s a brilliant opportunity for students to build confidence, have fun, and work together on something they’ll remember for years.

Unforgettable experiences lasting memories

Our productions are true expressions of the Triangle—students, staff, and families working together to create unforgettable experiences and lasting memories.
