At Pinehurst, we teach Cambridge from Year 1 to 13 because it works for every student — supporting, challenging, and building confidence within a robust framework. Cambridge offers high standards, strong resources, and a healthy balance of skills, knowledge and understanding. In Years 12 and 13, it provides excellent preparation for university and future pathways.
Our students sit Cambridge external examinations at five different year levels:
- Year 6: Checkpoint exams in English, Mathematics and Science
- Year 9: Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint tests in English, Mathematics and Science
- Year 11: IGCSE exams in English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, and six or seven other subjects
- Year 12: AS Level exams in General English, English Language or English Literature and three or four other subjects
- Year 13: A Level or AS Level exams in four or five subjects
