Working at Pinehurst

541-1

We recognise and support our people at work and beyond

At Pinehurst, we believe schools thrive on strong relationships—between teachers, students, families, and staff. We’re proud to be one of New Zealand’s leading independent schools, offering a vibrant, caring community on Auckland’s North Shore.

Our campus is green and welcoming, with around 1100 students—large enough to offer wide opportunities, but small enough that everyone is known by name. Our supportive, family-like culture and focus on individual growth mean that every staff member is valued and encouraged to develop in their role.

a work place where your voice will be heard

When you work at Pinehurst, you’ll have the resources, support, and encouragement to make a real difference—and to grow as an educator and as part of our wider school family.

Teaching, learning and students

At Pinehurst, the heart of learning is the relationship between teacher and student. Our small classes, up to 23 in Primary, 15–25 in Years 7–9, and often fewer in the senior years, means you can truly know your students and tailor how you teach to their needs. You’ll be working with motivated, respectful young people in a calm environment where high expectations are set, and students routinely exceed them.

Teaching in Partnership

At the heart of Pinehurst is the Pinehurst Triangle, a partnership between students, families and school. As a teacher, you are a vital part of this triangle, working closely with parents to build open, supportive relationships that help every child feel known and valued.

We provide excellent facilities, strong IT support, the internationally recognised Cambridge curriculum, a settled assessment system, and a collaborative, values-driven team. Teaching here is about inspiring, challenging and supporting every student to reach their full potential – academically and personally.
