School Profile

A

A world class, independent co-educational school in auckland for years 1-13

Since opening our doors in 1991, we’ve grown into a vibrant community of over 1,100 students, all learning on a single, purpose-built campus on Auckland’s North Shore.

We offer more than just academic excellence — we nurture well-rounded, confident young people who are curious, compassionate, and ready to thrive in a changing world.

A PLACE TO GROW

At Pinehurst, every child is known and valued. With small class sizes and passionate, highly skilled teachers, students are supported to grow in both character and capability. Our values — Respect for Self, Respect for Others, and Excellence — guide everything we do, from the classroom to the sports field to the stage.

GLOBAL CURRICULUM

We are proud to be New Zealand’s first Cambridge Centre of Excellence, offering the globally recognised Cambridge Pathway from Year 1 through to Year 13, A Levels. The Cambridge curriculum is flexible, challenging, and designed to inspire independent thinking, preparing students for top universities in New Zealand and around the world.

Our graduates go on to study in leading institutions across the globe — but just as importantly, they leave Pinehurst with the skills, confidence, and character to make a difference wherever they go.

STUDENT WELLBEING & PASTORAL CARE

Learning flourishes when students feel safe, supported, and connected. Our pastoral care programme is woven into the everyday life of the school — built on strong relationships between students, staff, and families. From mentoring and leadership roles to in-class support and a dedicated student support team, our approach to wellbeing is proactive, inclusive, and grounded in care.

LEADERSHIP & CHARACTER

Leadership is encouraged from the earliest years at Pinehurst. Our students take on meaningful roles across all year levels — whether as Senior Leaders, peer mentors, sports captains, or organisers of service projects. These opportunities help students grow in confidence, take initiative, and give back to the community around them.
