Supreme Awards at Senior College Academic Prize Giving
The Pinehurst Senior College Prize Giving on the 7th December was a moment to congratulate the academic and cultural successes of a broad array of students over the course of 2011. Whilst over 100 awards were presented, there are certain awards that should be published more broadly than to those present on the night.

General Academic Excellence
Congratulations to those Year 10 to 12 students who received their year level’s General Excellence Award. This award is presented to the student who has performed at the highest level of attainment across their entire academic course. To be eligible for this award they must have been committed to a full academic course (7 subjects at Year 10 and 11 and 5 subjects at Year 12). The award honours not only their talent and ability but, more importantly, their dedication and commitment across all subjects and across the entire academic year:
- Year 10 General Excellence: Ana Rancic
- Year 11 General Excellence: Michelle Yip
- Year 12 General Excellence: Olivia Stone
- Proximae Accesit and 2011 Dux
The Dux award is presented based on the same criteria as the Year 10 to 12 General Excellence Awards and, as it is for the Year 13 cohort, it is the supreme award at any school prize giving. Proximae Accesit is awarded to the student who attained second place.
In 2011 two students were ranked in equal second place and, as such, jointly receive the Proximae Cup:
- Proximae Accesit: Benjamin Butt and Benjamin Wedd
- College Dux for 2011: Alicia Hunt
Congratulations to all award winners. A fuller summary of all our major awards will be included in the school yearbook, coming out in early 2012.
