Pinehurst Supports Community at Christmas
Pinehurst School continues its annual tradition of helping those in the community, having named this year’s charity the Salvation Army, North Shore.
Themed ‘the Christmas Meal’ Pinehurst School, together with the ‘Sallies’, hopes the ‘tasty’ theme will help bring a smile to the face of those in need this Christmas.
Pinehurst families are invited to participate by donating any spare non-perishable ‘goodies’ from their pantry. Children can then bring their products to School by 7 December and place their donations in specially marked boxes which are then collected daily by Year 9 Santa helpers.
Suggested items include: tinned fruits and vegetables; packets of biscuits and crackers; sachets and cartons of juice concentrates; jellies and Ready-Mix Cake packets; chocolates, sweets, nuts, dried fruits and nibbles; packets of (instant) coffee and tea-bags; tins and jars of ‘Ready-to-Go’ pasta and meat sauces. Non-perishable festive treats can include table napkins, festive candles and Christmas crackers.
Pinehurst family & Friends (PFF), a parent help and support group made up of parents and friends of Pinehurst School will package the boxes, ready for Salvation Army representatives to collect at a special Pinehurst School Christmas Service presentation (2 – 3 pm) on Friday 11 December.
Pinehurst School, welcomes donations with thanks. If you have any queries, or would like to donate product for this worthy cause please feel free to contact the School on (09) 414 0960.
