North Shore School Wins 2009 World Vision Scholarship Award

September 2009

Pinehurst School has been awarded an Intermediate Student Scholarship Award from World Vision for achieving exceptional results in the 2009 40 Hour Famine. This is an excellent outcome, given only 30 awards have been given out to top ‘intermediate’ fundraising schools nationwide.

Held from 28th September - 2nd October 2009 in Auckland, the Intermediate Student Scholarship Award is an action-packed week where a selected famine participant from either Year 7 or 8 can learn about global poverty, aid and development issues in an interactive, fun learning environment.

Scholars end up with really great memories that will last a lifetime, whilst being inspired to become a global citizen.

"Our students went to great lengths to support of World Vision. We are thrilled and honoured to be awarded this scholarship", says Executive Principal, Sherida Penman Walters.
