Enrolment at Pinehurst
Pinehurst aims to offer places to children who love learning and who are committed to making the most of their talents. Admissions are highly sought after, and we strongly recommend parents apply for entry well in advance of when they’d like their child to join Pinehurst.
The main points of entry at Pinehurst are at New Entrants, Year 7 and Year 10 levels. There is an assessment procedure for those children wishing to join at Junior College and Senior College levels. Entry at other years is possible subject to places being available and we welcome applications for consideration.
Pinehurst seeks a balanced and well rounded school roll, with priority given to siblings of currently enrolled students. The school will only accept a child if the Executive Principal is satisfied that Pinehurst is able to offer a suitable programme for the child concerned. Decisions on admission are made by the Executive Principal following personal interviews and (if applicable) review of previous school records.
New Entrants commence school at the start of the term closest to their 5th birthday and are invited for interview around the time of their 4th birthday.
The Year 7-9 enrolment assessment will begin in March of the year prior to the student starting school. students applying for Years 7 – 9 complete a pre-entry assessment in English and Mathematics.
For Years 10 – 13 enrolments, compatibility of existing study with the Cambridge curriculum needs to be evaluated.
International students may be required to undertake written and oral assessments to ascertain their level of English language understanding and competency.
Parents seeking admission for their child should complete and submit a Pinehurst Enrolment Application form. well in advance of when they’d like their child to attend. Please send this to the Enrolments Manager along with the application fee and a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport. Where you are applying for enrolment from overseas or your child is already attending school it is helpful to enclose a copy of their latest school report. International students need to supply evidence of prior learning in its original non-translated format.
You are very welcome to contact our Enrolment Manager any time to organise a visit to the School, interview with the appropriate Head of School or ask any questions you have about Pinehurst. The School Prospectus is available on line or you can request a copy from the Enrolment Office along with other information.
