Scholarships 

Pinehurst School is an Independent School that has an enviable reputation for high academic achievement in Cambridge exams and wide opportunities in sporting, cultural and service activities. Driven by the School’s philosophy “Students should be proud of who they are, what they know and what they can achieve”, Pinehurst fosters a unique environment where students can achieve their personal best.

The School encourages students to develop confidence in themselves and their abilities and offers many opportunities for leadership. Personal responsibility for goal setting and time management is encouraged through mentoring by tutors, deans and the senior staff.

Each year, at the discretion of the Board of Governors, scholarships are made available. These are for students who are very able academically, as well as in either Sport or the Arts or both, and who are in a financial position that would normally preclude them for Pinehurst enrolment.

To apply for a scholarship you need to complete the scholarship application form  and the statutory declaration on joint family income, and the Pinehurst Enrolment Application form and submit these to the School.

• Full scholarships cover all tuition fees. Application fee, Entrance fee, Bond and Capital Contribution Levy are waived. 
• Half scholarships cover half tuition fees. Application fee, Entrance fee, Bond and Capital Contribution Levy are waived. 
• Scholarships do not cover uniforms, camps, stationery or other incidentals. 
• Scholarships are only offered at Year levels where there are actual vacancies. 
• Applications are assessed by the Executive Principal. Selected candidates and their families are interviewed by the Executive Principal.

Scholarships are awarded on a confidential basis. Winners are kept confidential until they leave Pinehurst. 
 

Scholarships are available to New Zealand citizens and residents only.

The closing date for applications is 7th October, 2011 at 4pm.
