Future Directions

Pinehurst currently has a roll of 750 and intends to grow to a maximum of 850 over the next 5 years.

Five Projects in Five Years

Five Projects in Five Years was launched in 2007. A courts complex, an access lane, a new school library and College 2 are planned.

Courts Complex

The complex consists of six multi purpose courts, an associated pavilion and parking for 75 cars alongside Bush Road. This was completed in 2009.

This complex was further developed to have a multisport, acrylic surface and be fully fenced. The Sports Pavilion is a shared facility, and will incorporate a senior common room and sports offices. A further project is to provide lighting.

Pinehurst Lane

The Lane will enter the School from Rosedale Road, enhancing the ability for students to be safely transported to and from School, as well as access to the Gymnasium and fields.

It is intended that the Lane will be open from 7.30am – 8.45am and from 3pm – 3.45pm, daily.

Library

Pinehurst Library encapsulates learning in the 21st Century. It is designed as an information centre for research, study and enjoyment of literature.

Once the new Libary is built the old Library space in the mezzanine of the Gymnasium will return to its original use as a large multipurpose space.

College 2

College 2 consists of up to 20 teaching spaces. Built in two parts, it will initially provide for replacement spaces so the “Village” can be removed. The second part will contain spaces for The Arts, Soft Technologies, Graphics and Design.

Pinehurst Theatre

The vision is to build a beautiful theatre for 850 students, with tiered seating, as well as on the floor of the theatre, which has a slightly raised stage.

The foyer will be a facility for events like Alumni and parent functions, as well as Art exhibitions. The floor of the theatre will be available for Dinners and Balls.

The theatre will be the focus of a major fundraising campaign from the School and wider community.
